Explore Wat Umong · Wat Phra That Doi Suthep · Monk Evening Chanting Ceremony on a private half day program from Chiang Mai.
Departure: 15:00–19:30 hrs.
Pick up from your hotel lobby and depart to Wat Umong, a uniquely designed temple with ancient brick tunnels, built in the late 14th century. Walk through its peaceful forest setting adorned with wisdom messages in both Thai and English.
Continue to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of Northern Thailand’s most sacred temples, built in 1383. Perched 1,050 meters above sea level, this sacred site features a magnificent golden chedi enshrining holy relics of Lord Buddha. Enjoy panoramic views of Chiang Mai City and the Ping Valley from the summit of Suthep Mountain.
Then join the Monk Evening Chanting Ceremony. The chanting, primarily in Pali, dates back to the time of the Buddha and focuses on the Triple Gems: the Buddha, the Enlightened One; the Dhamma, the truth discovered and taught by the Buddha; and the Sangha, the community of those who follow the Middle Way and attain enlightenment. Afterwards, return to your hotel.
