Thailand Further Eases Travel Requirements with Shorter Island Quarantine Days
The Phuket Sandbox has served as a model to other countries in Asia wishing to reboot their tourism industry. With gradual re-opening of Phuket and other nearby areas such as Phang-Nga (Khao Lak and Ko Yao), Krabi (Ko Phi Phi, Ko Ngai and Railay) and Surat Thani (Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao) , Thailand government has announced a further ease in travel requirements starting Friday, 1st October 2021.
Travelers who wish to visit Thailand are now required to stay within the destination for seven nights, and afterwards will be able to continue their journey to other parts of Thailand.
7 nights stay for international travelers who have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to departure date with vaccines approved by the Thai authorities;
Travelers who are not fully inoculated are required to spend 10 nights under the Sandbox program or AQ / ASQ accommodation depending on the arrival province;
Children who are not fully inoculated are required to spend 10 nights under the Sandbox program or AQ / ASQ accommodation depending on the arrival province;
The number of PCR tests required has been reduced to two (2) – upon arrival and on day 6-7;
All other requirements and processes, including Certificate of Entry (COE) application, remain in place;
